Chanel and thesis

We´ve just had the weirdest weather in Holland the last couple of days: even though autumn has definitely set in (leafs turning red and orange), it’s like somebody switched up the thermostat. Which worked out perfectly for my bad ass move on Thursday to skip working on my thesis and go to the museum with my mum. After a gruelling 6 weeks of courses (Vaccines, Cardiology and Virology), it was time to start working on my thesis again. But mid-week I got some great news! I passed Cardiology! Hooray! So to celebrate my mum took me to the exhibition “Chanel: the legend” in the Hague (or Den Haag if you’re Dutch). It was amazing, but also a little disappointing. For one, somebody had the brilliant idea to not put the text and explanation near the objects, but on the opposite wall. Brilliant. Especially since it was pretty crowded, cause when will us ordinary people ever get to see a Chanel jacket in real life, except in this exhibition? However, because we still had the entire afternoon left we went shopping! But not for a Chanel jacket mind you ;) Sooooo, I kinda bought a pair of Chelsea boots and a faux leather skirt. But on sale, I swear! Ironically, I’m going shopping with my friends this weekend (after two months of planning) and one of them specifically texted me Thursday “not to buy anything, because we’re going shopping Saturday!”. Oops. I guess I failed that test...

p.s. If you love Chanel (like I do) I recommend watching the 9 short films made by CHANEL on youtube. There give a really nice but detailed peek into the life and collection of Coco Chanel. Watch the first part here:
